Here are the answers to many frequently-asked questions. If there’s a point you wish to clarify which is not covered here, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Does the Chef cook on site or do they bring the food ready prepared?

It will depend on the menu you have chosen, for example dinner or buffet. For a dinner party, some of the dishes will be prepared in advance but most will be prepared in your kitchen.

How long will the meals last?

As long as you like! However, we aim to take about one and half hours, from starter to when the coffee is served.

Are there any extra costs apart from the menu prices quoted?

Usually there won’t be. However, if you aren’t local to us there will be a small delivery charge. Also, if there are more than six people at the meal we will bring a waitress to serve the meal instead of the Chef. Waiting staff cost £6.50/hr.

Can we hire crockery, glasses, cloths etc?

We hire all sorts of catering equipment. Charges range from 20p for plates and crockery. Linen cloths are available from £6.95 each. More details on this page.

Is there a limit to the number of guests and is there a discount for larger numbers?

There is no limit to guest numbers; the limitation could be the size of your kitchen and dinning table. We do give a discount of 5% for bookings over 10 people.

Do we have to choose the food on the menus or can we have our own selection or bespoke menu?

The Chef will prepare any type of food you require and we can also cater for special diets.

Do you prepare food for other sorts of celebrations, such as Weddings, Party buffets, Business >Lunches or Barbecues?

Our Chefs are experienced at all types of events. For weddings, we can prepare a formal quotation. For this, we will need details of the location, number of guests and an idea of the type of meal you require. For buffets, click here for more details.

What do we need to do before the event?

  • See which guests have any allergies or special dietary requirements.
  • Lay the table with your favourite crockery/ cutlery etc.
  • When you have received confirmation from us on the date, book a time for the Chef to arrive.
  • Send us a 50% deposit, one week before that date.

Can we change any of the details of the booking at the last minute?

Numbers of guests can be charged up until two days prior to the event. If at this point you have to cancel, the 50% deposit will remain with us. Changes to the menu are acceptable up to three days prior to your event.

How and when do we pay?

The Chef will prepare to leave just after the coffee is served and can be paid by cash or cheque.
